Adult Swim Promo at Comic Con makes a splash

We were recently contracted by The Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim for a fun three-day promotion at Comic Con 2010 in San Diego.  Adult Swim had two of our ice cream trucks fully wrapped in a custom design by artist Ben Jones.  The night before the Comic con event kicked off, the Adult Swim Team applied the florescent vinyl graphics by hand.

For the three days of Comic Con, the larger truck remained in designated parking areas near the convention center.  The smaller ice cream truck cruised the beach areas and other high foot traffic areas throughout San Diego.  Comic Conners were kept up-to-date on the trucks locations via Twitter and Facebook.  We handed out 4,000 free Ben & Jerry’s novelty ice cream products each day, for a grand total of 12,000 during the entire event!

We had several celebrities from Adult Swim onboard the ice cream trucks throughout the promotion helping serve the ice cream to the fans.  Seth Green & Matthew Senreich, the creators of Robot Chicken, plus Dana Snyder & Dave Wilis the guys behind Aqua Teen Hunger Force, had a great time signing autographs, taking photos and of course giving everybody free Ben & Jerrys.  We had both trucks together for Tim & Eric’s Awesomecon held at Embarcadero Park. The event wrapped up Saturday evening with a huge parking lot dance party with DJ Kid Kuala spinning out of the truck.
